Schedule Generation Set-up

You must define these components to generate a schedule:

  1. Jobs, defined for locations as a role or collection of tasks that an employee performs when working.
  2. Skills, a set of capabilities required by the scheduled job that need to match with the capabilities possessed by the employee scheduled to that job.
  3. Activities, something an employee is scheduled to do and is required by locations to be performed. For example, cashier, stocking, breaks and meals. Activities may be paid or unpaid.
  4. Staffing requirements, used to define the desired staffing characteristics to work in a particular area of the schedule. Staffing requirements include the qualifications needed (job, skill, skill level) to perform the work (activity) and how the workload is calculated (employee productivity, minimum and maximum staffing levels, or workload distribution over time).
