Shift offsets

Shift offsets are used to extend the length of shifts created for volume-driven staffing requirements. Shift offsets can be added to requirements to account for tasks that employees must perform before or after regular service activities. For example, cashiers may spend 10 minutes at the beginning of each shift to count their cash drawer before they can start servicing customers.

When adding a staffing requirement, the Shift Start Offset field determines the number of minutes to extend a shift at the start of the shift. The Shift End Offset field determines the number of minutes to extend a shift at the end of the shift. Shifts are extended using the same job, skill, and activity configured for the staffing requirement.
