Regenerating forecasts

You can regenerate a forecast to incorporate new actual data or to clear manual adjustments.

  1. Select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Forecasting.
  2. Click Edit for the forecast that you would like to regenerate.
  3. Optionally, click the name of the forecast to edit forecast details before regeneration. Then specify this information in the Forecast Properties window:
    Name
    You can specify a new name for the forecast.
    Forecast Start Date and Forecast End Date
    You can specify a new start and end date for the forecast period. Note that the forecast numbers for days added to the forecast period using this method are 0 until they are manually specified or the forecast is regenerated.
    Start Date and End Date
    You can specify a new start and end date for the historical data used for linear regression forecasts. For other forecast methods, specify any dates.
    Initial Adjustment (%)
    Specify the percentage amount by which the historical data for linear regression forecasts is initially adjusted when regenerating the forecast. For other forecast types, specify 0.0.
  4. Click Regenerate Forecast to regenerate the forecast. Click OK to confirm.
    Note: If the Forecast Aysnc task is enabled, a message is displayed notifying you that the forecast is being regenerated. Click OK to confirm and close the Forecasting screen. A Workmail message is sent to you when the forecast is completed, which includes a link to open the forecast.
    The forecast is regenerated and the forecast results are updated.
  5. Click Save.
