Installing the Clock Server

By default, the WB5500 Series Clock contains a factory program and cannot connect to the WFM application. Use these instructions to install the required program files to the WB5500 clock. Perform the instructions for each clock. Contact Client Support for the installation files.

To install the WBCS (Workbrain Clock Server):

  1. Using WinSCP, connect to the clock as the admin user. By default, this password is admin. For security purposes, change the password.
  2. Copy the files install.sh and install.tar to the admin user's home directory. The clock folder display should list the two files.
  3. Using PuTTY, log in as the root user. By default, the password is root. For security purposes, change the password.
  4. Once in PuTTY, specify cd ~admin and press Enter. The admin user’s home directory is displayed.
  5. Specify sh install.sh and press Enter.

    These messages are displayed:

    started installation checking user status

    user is root. continue execution.

    creating install dir install dir created - OK

    unpacking archive. please wait...

    tar: Invalid tar magic

    archive unpacked - OK

    starting admin part script

    deleting previous framework and wbcs libraries

    previous framework and wbcs libraries deleted - OK

    start copying new files. please wait...

    files copied - OK modifying access rights access rights modified - OK

    copying essential files to a safe place... finished admin part

    copy succeeded

    start cleaning up clean up - OK

  6. When prompted with ”do you want delete update files (yes/no)“, specify yes and press Enter.
  7. Click Ctrl + T.

    A Console window is displayed.

  8. Specify reboot and press Enter.
