Configuring Time Approval in the Clock

To enable the Time Approval feature in the clock, configure one or more of these options based on business requirements:

  1. Associate to a Swipe

Time approval records are presented to an employee every time an employee performs a specific swipe. For example, employees could be required to approve their worked time every time they clock-in for a shift. In this example, the time approval function would be associated with the swipe type 01 (clock-in). The employee would provide a badge and PIN or Biometric authentication and press IN on the clock keypad. The employee would then be prompted to process one or more time approval records. When all the records have been processed, the employee would get a message indicating the start of the shift.

When time approval is associated with swipe type 01 (clock-in), the start of the shift (clock-in) is recorded the moment the employee provides their authentication.

When time approval is associated with swipe type 02 (clock-out), the end of the shift (clock-out) is recorded when the last time approval record is processed. The time spent approving records is included in the shift and the calculation of pay.

  2. Clock Function Key

An employee can select a pre-configured function key (F1 – F4) on the clock’s keypad to access the time approval function. The employee must provide a badge number and PIN or Biometric authentication, if configured before they are presented with their records.
