Function Key Label Configuration

A function key label is displayed above a function key. The label describes the action associated with that function key. Labels can be six to ten characters long and use one or two lines. Use \n for line breaks.

The number of characters that you can use on the label varies depending upon the size of the characters that you use. For example, an upper case M takes more space on the display than a lower case i. If your label uses mostly large characters, then the space on the label limits you to fewer characters.

The labels for clock punches are:

Key Sample Value Description
DEPARTMENT_CHANGE Dept Change departments
DOCKET_CHANGE Docket Change docket
JOB_CHANGE Job Change job
PROJECT_CHANGE Project Change project
TIMECODE_CHANGE TCODE Change time code
MEAL_BREAK_ON MEAL\nON Start meal break
MEAL_BREAK_OFF MEAL\nOFF End meal break

The labels for supervisor mode are:

Key Sample Value Description
SUPERVISOR_MODE SUPER Enter Supervisor mode
FINGERPRINT_ENROLL ENROLL Enroll biometric template for employee

The labels listed earlier in this chapter for clock punches are also available for supervisor mode. For example, the label for DEPARTMENT_CHANGE can be used to allow a supervisor to make a department change punch for an employee.
