Cleaning procedures

Clean each clock in your deployment once a month as follows:

  1. Wipe the plastic surface of the clocks using a damp cotton cloth and neutral detergent. Make sure to wipe the clock dry. Do NOT spray any cleaning agent directly on the clock as this could damage the clock components.
  2. To disinfect the biometric sensor and screen, the clock vendor recommends using a soft, micro-fiber cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) or similar non-abrasive, non-toxic, non-bleach disinfectant safe for LCD screens. Do NOT over-saturate the screen or biometric sensor. Do NOT directly spray any cleaning agent directly on the screen or biometric sensor.
  3. Use a clear plastic cleaner/polish to remove fine scratches from the surface of fingerprint sensor every three months.
  4. Do not subject the fingerprint sensor to heavy shock or vibrations, do not allow the sensor to come in contact with sharp or metallic objects and do not place it near a heat source.

A special cleaning badge is typically used to swipe through the slot to clean magnetic or barcode heads. If a cleaning badge is not available use a soft cloth dampened by rubbing alcohol and wipe the slot and reader’s head every six months.
