Releasing the Forecast after Generation

After the forecast has been generated by the Job Scheduler or on the Forecast Generation page, the forecast can be released to the lowest level of the hierarchy for review and editing:

  1. Select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Labor Budgeting > Forecast Generation.
  2. Select a forecast method.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. For the Release Forecast check box:
    • Select the check box to begin the forecast approval process from the lowest Budget Management location of the hierarchy, such as the Store level. After forecast generation, the system sends Workmail messages to the budget managers of the lowest level notifying them that the forecast is ready to be reviewed, edited, and approved. At this time, the lowest locations are in Pending state while all the higher locations included in the forecast review are in Released state.

    • Clear the check box to release the forecast only to the root budget manager. At this time, the root location is in Pending state. All the other locations included in the forecast review are in Initial state and cannot view the numbers.

The forecast is released based on the page from which the forecast was generated:

  • If generated from the Forecast Generation, then the Worksheet for the user who generated the forecast, is automatically displayed. The forecast can be manually released to the lowest level of the hierarchy for review and edit.
  • If generated from the Job Scheduler, then the root budget manager must manually display the Worksheet and release the forecast from that page.

After the root budget manager releases the forecast to the lowest location for review, edit, and approval, the lowest location is in Pending state while all the higher locations included in the forecast review are in Released state.
