Calculating the AHR Trend

When calculating the AHR trend, the application uses this year’s actuals for a specific week, if they are available. If this year’s actuals are not available in the system, then the application uses the forecasted AHR for that week instead. In general, the AHR trend is the weighted average of the ratio between this year’s actual or forecasted AHR and the last year’s actual AHR for the 8 previous weeks.

Note that the application drops the highest and lowest values for this year’s and last year’s AHR before calculating the ratio.

For example, the application uses the following formula to calculate the AHR trend for week 14, where LY means “last year” and TY means “this year”:
