Creating a batch scheduling task for Auto Assignment

A batch scheduling task can be added to the job scheduler to generate schedules with Auto-Assignment on a recurring basis.

  1. Select Maintenance > System Administration > Job Scheduler.
  2. Click Add Schedule.
  3. Specify a name for the task in the Task Description field.
  4. In the Task Type section, select Java Task and then select BatchGenerateSchedulesWithAutoAssignment from the drop down.
  5. In the Scheduled Time section, specify this information:
    Run at
Specify the time to run the task.
    Timezone
Select the applicable time zone using the look up. By default, the Timezone field displays your actual local time zone.
  6. In the Scheduling Time section, select one of these options:
    • Once to schedule the task to run only once.
    • Weekly to schedule the task to run by day of the week.
    • Monthly to schedule the task to run by month and day of month.
  7. If you selected Weekly, select the check boxes to indicate on which days of the week to run the task.
  8. If you selected Monthly, use one of these options:
    • Select the Day Of option and specify the day of month to run the task.
    • Select the Of option and specify the week of the month and day of the week to indicate which day the task runs. For example, you can select Second and Thursday to run the task on the second Thursday of each month.
    • Select the check boxes to indicate which months of the year the task runs.
  9. In the Scheduling Range section, specify this information:
    Start On
Select the date that you want the task to begin executing.
    End By
Specify the end date of the task, or leave the field blank to schedule the task indefinitely.
  10. Configure any additional options for the task as required.
See the "Job Scheduler" chapter in the Infor Workforce Management Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.
  11. Click Submit and click OK on the confirmation prompt.
  12. For your batch scheduling task, click Parameters.
  13. Specify this information:
    Location
Select the location to generate the schedule for. Schedules are generated for the location and its child locations.
    Schedule Name
Specify the name to be applied to the generated schedules. Optionally, you can include the characters %FW in the name to add the fiscal week number in the schedule names. This can help users to differentiate between schedules that are generated for different weeks.
Min Day Offset to Start Date
Specify the minimum number of days between the batch execution date and the schedule start date. When the batch job runs, the offset number is added to the current date to calculate the offset date. If the offset date is the same day of the week as the start day configured for the location, the schedule starts on the offset date. Otherwise, the schedule starts on the next occurrence of the start day after the offset date.
    Delete Existing
Select this check box to delete existing schedules before creating the new schedules. This deletes any schedules created for the location(s) that overlap the dates of the new schedules. Clear this check box to skip schedule generation for any locations that have existing schedules that overlap the new schedules.
    Batch Size
Specify the number of schedules that can be generated simultaneously by this task. The number of schedules must be the same or lower than the total number of Dash licenses available. Schedules beyond this number are queued until other schedules are completed.

See "Dash Licenses and Parallel Schedule Generation" in the Infor Workforce Management Installation and Configuration Guide for details.

    Workmail Notification
Select users to be notified via Workmail when the task is completed.
  14. Click Submit to save the task parameters and click OK in the confirmation prompt.
