Labor allocation changes

The application tracks where employees time is spent by their default labor allocation. Employee labor is automatically charged against certain jobs, tasks, and departments. The default labor allocation also determines the rate that employees are paid. Elapsed time overrides are used to override the default labor allocation.

Elapsed time overrides serve two purposes:

  • To override labor allocation when employees work on a different job or task, or in a different department than specified in their default labor allocation.
  • To override pay rate when a different pay rate is used for time an employee worked during the week. Overtime can be specified with an elapsed time override.
