Time off request approval for MVS users

This topic only applies to users of the MVS scheduling features in Infor Workforce Management 6.1.3 and later versions, who want to allow employees to request time off using the Time Off Planner.

In addition to the normal processing of time-off requests, the application generates a relief shift as part of the approval of a time off request. The relief shift backfills the workload that was originally covered by the requesting employee. Upon approving a request, the supervisor is required to select one of the three relief shift statuses:

  • Unfilled
  • Pending
  • Relief Not Needed

To configure the Time Off Planner for relief shift generation upon approvals, set the value of the /system/modules/timeOffPlanner/PLUGINS registry parameter to:

es-mvsTimeOffPlannerPlugin

Only shifts that are scheduled by MVS and covered by the approved time off request can generate relief shifts. Shifts that are scheduled using other scheduling mechanisms do not generate relief shifts upon time off approval. Rejected time off requests also do not generate relief shifts.
