Creating or editing pay group types

To create or edit a pay group type:

  1. Select Maintenance > Payroll Settings > Payroll Close > Pay Group Type.
  2. Click Create New Entry to create a pay group type. Or click Edit next to an existing pay group type to edit the pay group type.
  3. Specify this information:
    Pay Group Type
    Specify the name for this pay group type. The name should describe the pay group's purpose. For example, Semi-Monthly.
    Description
    Specify a short description for this pay group type.
    Duration in Days
    Specify the number of days that the pay period to which this pay group belongs will last.

    Set this field to 0 for non-duration pay group types.

    Days of Month (Start)
    Specify the days of the month when the pay period begins. To enter multiple days, separate your entries with a comma. For example, to have the pay period start on the first and sixteenth day of the month enter 1,16.
  4. Click Save.

Once completed, the pay group type is used to generate pay period dates and is available for selection on the Pay Group definition form.
