Setting maximum login attempts

The maximum login attempts setting determines how many times a user can attempt to log on with an incorrect password before the application locks the user out and sends an alert message to the system administrator.

To set the maximum login attempts:

  1. Select Maintenance > System Administration > Registry Maintenance.
  2. Select the /system/workbrain_parameters/max_logins registry path.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Specify the number of failed log-on attempts that users can make before being locked out in the Variable Value field, and then click Save.
  5. Click OK.
If users are locked out, then you must reset the Bad Logins value on their record to a value less than the value set for this parameter. The user's password should also be reset. See Security maintenance.
