Creating employee labor allocation overrides
To create employee labor allocation overrides:
- Select Maintenance > Employees > Employee Basic Information - Override.
- Select the employee who you want to view using the Employee lookup.
- Select the effective date for the overrides using the Date calendar, and click Go.
-
Navigate to the Employee Labor Allocation section, and specify
this information for each labor allocation override:
- Ratio
- Portion of the employee’s time to be assigned to the elements
(docket, hour type, job, time code, etc.) on this row. Any whole number can
be specified in this field. The application totals each labor allocation
percentage and then uses the resulting sum as the denominator for the labor
allocation calculations.
In this example, an employee's default labor allocation (EDLA) is split 60/40 against the A and B jobs respectively:
Ratio Docket Hour Type Job Time Code 60 0 UNPAID A UAT 40 0 UNPAID B UAT On the timesheet, details are created to match these instructions. So if the employee is scheduled to work 0800-1600 without a break, then 288 minutes are allocated to Job A (480*0.6) and 192 minutes are allocated to Job B (480*0.4).
Start End Duration Time Code Hour Type Job 0800 1248 288 UAT UNPAID A 1248 1600 192 UAT UNPAID B Note:- By default, scheduled break time is excluded from the calculation of eligible scheduled time to be split. The breaks themselves are not part of the split time. Instead, breaks are allocated to the first EDLA record that is associated with the employee (Job A, in the example above). If you want more control over how breaks factor into the split, configure the EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC registry parameter.
- By default, full-day LTAs are allocated to the first EDLA record that is associated with the employee (Job A, in the example above). If you want to split LTAs across labor metrics in the same way that paid work time is split, configure the EDLA_SPLIT_FULL_DAY_LTA_AS_OF registry parameter.
See the Infor Workforce Management Registry Parameter Reference Guide.
- Docket
- Used for incentive pay systems (standard quantity, standard time, machine, etc.).
- Hour Type
- Used to classify the pay category that is being applied to an extent of time and the multiple that should be applied. For example, UNPAID refers to the unpaid category and REG refers to the regular pay. Other valid types are OT1, OT2, OT3, and OTS, which are time-and-a-half, double time, double time-and-a-half, and straight overtime respectively. Unless the employee is automatically paid for their scheduled work time without actually having to clock in, this field is set to UNPAID for most employees.
- Job
- Actual function that is performed by the employee.
- Time Code
- A short alphanumeric value that is used to classify the extent of time. Similar to hour type, most employees should be set to UAT (unallocated time), meaning that when their timesheet is created, their scheduled work time is initially designated as unallocated unpaid time. This value automatically changes to a paid time code if the employee successfully reports to work with a clocking event.
- Project
- An alphanumeric value that identifies the specific project against which time is charged.
- Department
- The department to which the time is charged.
- UDF number
- User-defined fields for alphanumeric values.
- Flag number
- User-definable fields with ON/OFF values that can be used for processing or to flag exceptions.

Optionally, clear the
Permanent check box at the
bottom of the page to make the override temporary. Then select a date range for
the temporary override in the
Override Start Date and
Override End Date fields.
Otherwise, the override is permanent.
- Click Submit.
