Assigning date-effective rules

If you enable date-effective rules, you can set the rules to become active or inactive before, during, or after their effective date ranges. For example, by setting a rule as inactive for the time periods before and after the rule’s effective date range, you ensure the rule is only applied during a specified date range. Anything that changes the XML (including rule parameter values) can be date effective.

With date effective rules, you can:

  • Create rules that are only applicable for a defined span of time.
  • Create parameters and condition sets that are only applicable for a defined span of time.
  • View only the rules that are applicable for a specific date.

By default, rules are not date effective. See Enabling date effective rules.
