Do not select Is Enabled until all of the rules and filters are completely configured. As soon as you select Is Enabled, assuming the Effective Start Date and the Effective End Date range is current, any schedule changes will validate against the configured rule and filter instances in this schedule compliance group.

Select the date you want the schedule compliance group to start being effective. Defaults to the current date.
    Effective End Date

    Specify this information:
    Name
Enter a name for the instance of the rule you are defining for this schedule compliance group.
    Description
Enter a short description for the rule instance.
    Rule Type
    Select:
    • Error to ensure that the shift will not be published with this violation present.

The schedule manager cannot approve an error violation.

    • Warning to allow the schedule manager the opportunity to approve the violation.

The shift can be published with an approved warning violation, but not with an unapproved warning violation.

    Violation Message

The default message for the rule appears in this field, complete with codes for system generated values such as the code {0} which generally represents the full employee name.

The default violation message, including all codes, are described for each rule in the Core Rule Catalog.

    Allow Employee Self-Approval
Allow employees to violate the rule without manager approval when claiming shifts in Shift Billboard, trading shifts and elsewhere.

  10. Select a filter in the Add Filter lookup and click Add Filter.
  11. Complete the following general settings, if applicable. For details on each filter, see the Core Filter Catalog.
    Exclude
By default, all filters are “include” filters. Include filters pass all data that meets the criteria to the associated rules for validation. When you define the filter, you can select the Exclude check box to make the filter an ‘exclude’ filter. Exclude filters do not pass the data that meets the criteria to the associated rules for validation; instead Exclude filters pass the data that does not meet the criteria to the rules.

    Description
