Adding a chart to a report

Note: Infor highly recommends saving your report before adding charts to it. See the Birst Designer User Guide for more information on how to enable charting.

Charts can be created either using the data from the report you are currently on or data from a different Designer report.

To add a chart to a report:

  1. If you would like to make a chart with the columns in your current report, select Add Chart. Filters, Sorts, and Top N Results settings are all brought over from your existing report.
  2. If you would like to make a chart with the columns from a different Designer report, select Add Chart from Other Report and choose the existing Designer report.
  3. Add columns to your report from the Subject Areas.
  4. After adding columns to the report, click Add Chart and select the type of chart to add to your report.
  5. After the columns and chart are added to your Designer report, you can alter the report properties in Report Settings > Properties.

    For example, you may want to disable the Show Table property to disable the chart table that is created by default and often results in a chart that is several pages long.

  6. Select Save and select the report folder where you would like to save the report.
  7. Enter the report name and select Save.
