Assigning an employee to a row

You can assign employees to rows in the Master Rotation (MR) and One-time Schedule (OTS) edit screen. Assigning an employee to a row to schedules the employee to work the shifts plotted in the row.

  1. Edit an MR or OTS.
  2. Click inside the Employee column for the row that you would like to assign to the employee.
    The Assignment and Labor Metrics pane is displayed for the selected row.
    Note: If the row already has an employee assigned, you must unassign the currently assigned employee before you can assign a new employee to the row.

  3. Click Manage Assignment > Assign.
  4. Specify this information:
    Employee
    Specify the name of the employee you would like to assign.
    Original segment dates
    This list contains the ranges of dates that are unassigned in the row. For rows that have more than one date range that is not assigned, specify the date range that this employee assignment will take place in. Assignment start dates and end dates must fall within the specified date range.
    Start Date
    Specify the start date of the assignment.
    Note: The start date cannot be before the employee’s hire date.
    End Date
    Specify the end date of the assignment.
    Costing
    This determines the which labor metrics are applied to the shifts. Select the Employee-based option to use the employee's default labor allocation to determine the cost of the assigned shifts. Select the Row-based option to use the labor metrics that belong to the row.
    Comment
    Optionally, enter a comment for the employee assignment.
  5. Click Submit.
The employee is displayed in the row. If any period in the row in the currently displayed schedule is still unassigned, an additional row is added directly beneath the original row for the unassigned dates.
