Adding work time to an on-call shift

You can add concurrent or adjacent work time to an on-call shift, but you cannot add work time that would cause a gap with the on-call time.

For example, an employee is scheduled on-call from 7:00 to 19:00 and is called into work. You can add work time from 13:00 to 17:00 or 19:00 to 21:00, but you cannot add work time from 20:00 to 23:00.

  1. Display the ASV view in which you want to add work time to the on-call shift.
  2. Click the Edit Mode icon in the upper right corner of the window.
  3. Select Details Edit.
  4. Select the on-call shift that you want to add work time to. The on-call time detail is marked with a green background.
  5. Click Add Work.
  6. Specify this information in the new work detail:
    Start Time
    Specify the time when the work time starts.
    End Time
    Specify the time when the work time ends.
    Position
    Optionally, select a different job for the work time.
    Activity
    Select an ON activity such as WRK.
    Docket
    Optionally, select a different docket for the work time.
    Department
    Optionally, select a different department for the work time.
    Project
    Optionally, select a different project for the work time.
  7. Optionally, add a break within the work time.
    You cannot add a break outside the work time in an on-call shift.
  8. Click Save.
    The icon is updated in the shift cell to indicate that the on-call time now includes work time. An update event is recorded in the Shift History.
