CMS pay type codes

A pay type code must be specified for each employee to be included in the Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) Export for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) report. Customers using this report must add work types in the Employee Work Types maintenance form for each pay type code specified by CMS. Pay type codes are selected for individual employees using the Work Type field in the employee profile.

These pay type codes are required as of version 4.00.0 of the Payroll Based Journal Submission Specifications:

EXEMPT 1
NON-EXEMPT 2
CONTRACT 3
