Schedule Compliance

The Schedule Compliance module enables scheduling managers to validate any changes to a schedule against a set of configured rules. The Schedule Compliance module has been integrated with the ELaB feature to get the necessary information at various points to perform proper validation. The cross-schedule information for a loaned/borrowed employee is used to validate employee-specific rules.

Schedule Compliance works correctly with ELaB only if the schedule period is the same for all locations to which the employee is shared (home location and all borrow locations).

These points detail how Schedule Compliance is integrated with the ELaB feature:

  • Employees are validated against all their shifts for a given schedule period, regardless of schedule location.
  • All shifts scheduled to the employee are factored into a given violation. The shifts are included in the violation even if shifts occur within another schedule location.
  • The violation report displays all violations against an employee. The violations are included even if the violations occur in another schedule. (You will not be able to edit shifts that do not belong to the currently-viewed schedule.)
  • If the schedule that you are currently viewing contains a scheduled employee, you can approve any violation that occurs against that employee during that schedule period:
    • Both the home and borrow managers are responsible for violations that occur against ELaB employees during the schedule period in which they are borrowed.

    • Therefore, both managers should communicate about how to approve or correct any violations against an ELaB employee.

  • If ELaB employees are assigned shifts on a schedule that has been published, their shift changes on that schedule will be auto-published. However, the auto-publish only occurs if all violations for that schedule have been approved or corrected. (The schedule (home or borrowed location) in which the violation was approved or corrected does not matter.)
