Overview

Departments are logical areas used for scheduling and belong to a store. They frequently correspond to physical areas of a store, such as the Front End or the Hardware Dept. Departments have details that may differ from those related to the whole store, such as hours of operation and properties.

Entities, such as staffing requirements, are associated with departments and can also reference multiple drivers. The drivers are aggregated and optimized to drive labor for that department. This feature enables you to account for employees working in multiple jobs and performing multiple tasks at once. For example, in smaller stores, where one employee supports a selling floor with multiple selling areas.
