Staffing requirements

Staffing requirements pull together all of the other forecasting information to determine how the volume forecasts are converted into labor forecasts.

The staff requirement specifies the Job, Skill, and Skill level that are required to find the correct employee to perform the work. Job is required, but Skill and Skill Level are not required. See Skills.

Just like the Job is published onto the schedule and timesheet, the activity is assigned to the work. There are many default activities that are provided in the application so one of these activities can be selected. Alternatively, new activities can be defined in the system. See Activities.

After the type of employee is configured, a driver may be added to associate this staff requirement to the forecast. After selecting a driver, a distribution and a productivity standard are added. The distribution is usually an automatic distribution based on the driver’s data. See Productivity standards.

The staff requirement can also include a minimum and maximum staffing level. These minimums are combined with the forecasted staffing needs to come up with the final labor forecast.

Each department should specify one staff requirement as the primary by checking the Is Primary option. This option is used to populate the job and activity fields within the LFSO schedule screen for new shifts that are created in that department.

For each staff requirement, a driver can also be selected as the source of the Top Performer Scheduling Peak times. This is in the field named Peak Time Source. The maximum number of peak times for each staff requirement can also be selected. This will limit the number of peaks that are scheduled per week for that staff requirement.
