Selecting black out periods

Blackout periods allow you to make exceptions to the run times specified by your publishing schedule. These exceptions are time periods when you do not want publishing to occur. For example, during a holiday season.

Blackout periods are optional.

  1. In the Blackout Period section, select one of these options:
    • None to not include blackout periods in your publishing schedule.
    • Daily to schedule the task to run at intervals of days and minutes.
    • Weekly to schedule the task to run on specific days of the week.
    • Monthly to schedule the task to run on specific months and on days of the month.
  2. If you selected Daily, select one of these options:
    • Specify the number of days between runs in the Every __ Day(s) field.
    • Specify the number of seconds between runs in the Interval __ Second(s) field. The system allows for a minimum of 5 seconds between runs. Use -1 to indicates that you do not want to use this field.
  3. If you selected Weekly, select the check boxes for the days of the week on which the task is to be run.
  4. If you selected Monthly, use one of these options:
    • Select the Day __ Of option and specify the day of month on which the task is to be run.
    • Select the __ Of option and select the week of the month and the day of week on which the task is to be run. For example, you can select Second and Thursday to run the task every second Thursday of the month.
    • Select the check boxes for months of the year in which the task is to be run.
