Configuring Clock Language Localization

To provide localization for other languages follow these steps which use French as an example. For supported languages, you should use standard NLS (National Language Support) suffixes such as _fr for French and _en for English.

To localize a single clock:

  1. Use WinSCP or another FTP client to connect to your clock and download the clock.properties and settings_en.conf files to your local machine.
  2. Create a copy of the clock.properties file on your local machine and name it clock_fr.properties. The _fr suffix signifies that the file contains French localization.
  3. Specify the appropriate French language text for all the labels and prompts.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Create a copy of the settings_en.conf file on your local machine and name it settings_fr.conf. The _fr suffix signifies that the file contains French localization.
  6. For the required validation messages, provide the appropriate French text.
  7. Save the file.
  8. Use WinSCP to upload the settings_fr.conf and clock_fr.properties files to your clock.
  9. Using Admin Console, connect to the clock.
  10. Select the Settings tab.
  11. Expand Classes > Validation.
  12. Right-click message.languages, select Modify Value.
  13. Change the value to fr and select OK.
  14. Select Update Server.

Once the clock application resets, the clock interface will display all the labels and text in French as specified above.
