Retail leave requests

Because retail employees may not have a schedule set in advance, often when they request a leave from work they do not have a schedule set for the time period of the leave request.

Enabling retail leave requests disables the schedule validation process so that employees can submit leave requests for a time period that they do not have a set schedule.

Note: For the retail leave functionality to work as intended, clear the Affects Balances check box on the Time Codes - Details page for the unpaid vacation time code being used by the functionality. Do not leave it selected as the unpaid vacation time code being used for the retail leave would affect all unpaid vacation balances.

This Schedule Optimization information is used by this functionality:

Maximum hours per day The maximum number of hours per day an employee can be assigned to work, based on their shift pattern. Defined in the Max Hours/Day field on the Employee Setting (Schedule Optimization) Detail page.

When a supervisor approves a submitted leave request, Employee Availability overrides are created to make the employee unavailable for the duration of the absence.
