  1. Select Scheduling > Auto-Assignment > Auto-assignment Schedule Profile.
  2. Click Create New Entry.
  3. Specify this information:
    Schedule Profile Name
Specify the name of the schedule profile.
    Schedule Profile Description
Specify a description of the schedule profile.
  4. In the Staffing Requirement Generation Option field, select one of these options to determine the method to generate staff requirements:
    • Select the Load requirements minimum from location info option to use the staffing requirements that are defined for the locations. Select this option to create a schedule based on the minimum staffing levels only.

    • Select the Calculate requirements from the forecast option to generate staffing requirements based on a forecast. Select this option to use the forecast and productivity standards in conjunction with minimums to create the schedule.

    • Select the Load existing requirements option to generate a schedule based on the locations' existing interval requirements. Before using this option, you must generate workloads for the locations.

  5. Specify the length of schedules to generate using this schedule profile in days in the Schedule Length field.
Note: At this time, only weekly (7 day) schedules can be generated by Auto-Assignment.
  6. Select the Profile used for Batch schedule generation? check box to enable this profile for batch schedule generation. Clear the check box to disable this profile for batch schedule generation.
  7. Specify this information to include shift transitions in generated schedules:
    Min Transition Length (Hours)
Specify the minimum number of hours that an employee can be assigned to cover a single staff requirement, which includes a combination of a job, activity, and department. This minimum length must be specified in whole hour increments.
    Max Transitions per Shift
Specify the maximum number of times an employee can transition from one staff requirement to another staff requirement during a shift. The maximum number of transitions that is supported by the optimization engine is 2. Specify 0 to disable shift transitions in schedules generated from this profile.
Note: See Shift transitions for more information.
  8. Select the Enforce Schedule Crossover check box to enable the generation of crossover shifts, which overlap the end of the current schedule period and continue into the next schedule period.
