Tracing SQL statements in real time

To troubleshoot reports further, you can configure the audit logging database on the Cognos server. The audit logging database enables the Cognos server to trace SQL statements in real time. After it has been configured, trace statements are displayed below the report results. SQL trace statements can be analyzed to debug poorly performing reports or reports that do not provide the desired results.

To trace SQL statements:

1. Configure Cognos tracing registry parameters in the system.
2. Enable Trace ON in the system.
3. Configure the audit logging database on the Cognos server.
