Performing a Clock Punch

To perform a clock punch:

  1. Using the keypad on the keyboard, the computer mouse, or the touch monitor, specify a badge number.
  2. Specify a PIN number, if required.
  3. Press a clock operation button. For example, Clock On, Clock Off, or Start Meal/Break.

A confirmation message is displayed showing the operation and your name.

Note: If the specified badge number is invalid, an appropriate error message is displayed. If the WBCS is not available, a message is displayed indicating that the transaction has been accepted and stored on the clock reader; that is, no validation is done. The Virtual Clock will then return to its idle state for the next punch.
  4. If Clock On is selected when the Time Approval feature has been enabled and there are time approval records for you to approve, they will be displayed as:

Please review your worked time for: 03/07/2011 hrs 08:00 for daily, or Please review your worked time for: 03/07/2011 03/13/2011 hrs 40:00 for weekly

    Press:

    • 1=Yes
    • 2=No
    • 3=Skip
Note: If time approval records are presented during clock out, the end of the shift (clock out) is recorded when the last time approval record is processed. The time spent approving records is included in the shift and the calculation of pay.

If the Time Approval feature is disabled or there are no time approval records to display, you are returned to normal clock operations.

  5. If time approval records are displayed, press:
    • 1 to approve the hours worked.
    • 2 to reject the hours worked.
    • 3 to skip the record.

If the record is skipped, it will appear at the next clock on to be approved or rejected. If more than one record is to be approved, they will be displayed until all records have been processed. If there are no more approvals to be displayed, the system displays “No more approvals available” and the clock reader returns to its idle state.
