Specify Criteria Mode

You must have access to the source database to perform a specify and export.

To specify and export:

  1. Launch the Migration Tool.
  2. In the Select Action page, select Specify and Export and then click Next.
  3. From the Source Database drop-down list of the Connect to Database page, select the source database.

    This represents the database from where you want to migrate the data.

    If you cannot find the source database in the drop-down list, then you must create a new database connection. For steps on how to create a new database connection, see Select the Migration Data.

  4. In the Password field, specify the database password for the source database.
  5. Click Next > Connect.

    The source database that you have successfully connected to is listed in the status bar near the top of the Migration Tool page.

  6. In the Select Tables/Functional Objects page, select:
    • Tables to display a list of all the tables that are available for export.
    • Functional Objects to display a list of all the functional objects that are available for export.
  7. Select the tables or functional objects you want to export and optionally apply filters to the selected objects.

  8. Select Next > Specify Criteria to display the results in the Specify Mode - Select Export Records screen.
  9. Determine which fields or records you want to include or exclude from the export process by selecting or deselecting the Export check box.

  10. Optional. Click View Export Summary to analyze the Export Summary Report.
  11. After you have refined your results and determined which records you want to export, click Next > Create Export File.
    The Export Audit Details pop-up window is displayed.
  12. Optionally, select the Encrypt Export File check box to encrypt the migration file. Then click Open in the PGP Public Key File field and select the public PGP key you are using to encrypt the migration file.
    Note: If the migration file is encrypted, it can only be imported using the Import Migration File maintenance form in WFM.
  13. In the User Name field, specify your name.
  14. In the Purpose field, specify the reason why you are performing the export.
  15. Click Continue.
    The Select the Migration File pop-up window is displayed.
  16. Specify a filename for the export file you are about to create and then click Export.

    Once the Migration Tool has successfully created and saved the file, the Export Status page is displayed with the following message:

    The file was successfully exported in <export file path and filename>.

  17. Optional. To continue selecting more tables or functional objects, click Export More Objects and then return to step 6 to select more objects and repeat the export process.
Use one of these options to migrate the data to the destination database:
