Roll types

Roll types define what the system should do if holidays fall on non-scheduled workdays. This setting helps determine the actual day the employee observes a given holiday. For example, if New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday, the company might choose to roll the observance of that holiday forward by one day to Monday. In this case, the roll type is AHEAD 1. If New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday, the company might opt to roll the observance backward by one day. In this case, the roll type is BEHIND 1.

Roll types are required to define holiday rolls. See Holiday rolls.

The application has several preconfigured roll types, but you can also create custom roll types to suit specific requirements.
