Assigning shift patterns

You can assign a shift pattern to employees, entire teams, calculation groups, or payroll groups.

To assign a shift pattern:

  1. Select Maintenance > Schedule Settings > Shift Pattern Definition and Assignment.
  2. Assign the shift pattern by selecting from one of these lookups:
    • Select the employees to which you want to assign the shift pattern from the Employee lookup.
    • Select the teams to which you want to assign the shift pattern from the Team lookup.
    • Select the calculation groups to which you want to assign the shift pattern from the Calc Group lookup.
    • Select the pay groups to which you want to assign the shift pattern from the Pay Group lookup.
  3. Select the day the employee starts the shift pattern in the Start Date field.
    The start date is the first date the employee's schedule is made from the shift pattern and not necessarily day 1 of the shift pattern. The shift pattern's start date and the employee's shift pattern offset determine which day of the pattern falls on a calendar date.
  4. Optionally, clear the Permanent check box and specify a date in the End Date field. The application schedules the employee based on the shift pattern until the specified end date.
    Otherwise, the shift pattern is kept indefinitely. You must manually change the employee or group to another shift pattern.
  5. Select the shift pattern name you want to assign from the Shift Pattern Selection lookup.
  6. Click Assign.
