Setting up the geofencing clock validation rule for mobility

This is the workflow for setting up the geofencing clock validation rule for mobility:

  1. Define the geolocation of the teams that are subject to geo-validation.

See "Defining and leveraging geolocations" in the Infor Workforce Management Daily Timesheet User Guide.

  2. Specify the grace period to be used by the geo-validation in the GEO_VALIDATION_GRACE registry parameter.
Note: You must specify a value for the grace period. By default, the registry parameter is set to blank, which disables the geo-validation.

See "GEO_VALIDATION_GRACE" in the Infor Workforce Management Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

  3. Configure the geofencing clock validation rule for the mobility reader type.

See Configuring the geofencing clock validation rule for the mobility reader type.

Note: Geo-validation is not performed on clocks created through a work summary override. Only clocking events triggered by the mobility clocking widget are considered. If an employee that is subject to geo-validation turns off the location services on their device, the system will prevent them from recording a clock.
