Holiday rolls

Holiday rolls define the actual day a holiday is observed. In the Holiday Roll Detail page, you can assign rolls to calculation groups, shift patterns, or both and indicate the roll type. The roll type determines whether to move the holiday observance forward or backward.

For example, if New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday, the company might choose to roll the observance of that holiday forward by one day to Monday. If New Year’s Day falls on a Saturday, the company might opt to roll the observance backward by one day.

You can apply a holiday roll to as many holidays as you want. You can also apply the roll to all holidays, specifying the numerical order in which the system prioritizes and processes holiday rolls.

When you create a holiday roll, you require a roll type value.
