Clock Reader Job Scheduler task types

This table is a list of all clock reader-related tasks in the Job Scheduler and their purpose:

Task Type	Description
Archive Files	Archives old .xml and .don files. This task is used to archive clock transactions that have been processed, as well as exported directives that have been transferred to the external system.
Export Directives	Exports all database changes to reader servers (monitors change history). This task creates XML-formatted records of data that are required by readers and their servers for configuration purposes and to validate transactions. The data elements that are exported are configurable to suit the requirements of different clock servers.
Export Schedules Directives	Exports employee schedules to reader servers. This task creates XML-formatted records of employee schedules that are required by readers when clock times, according to schedules, must be enforced. The data elements that are exported are configurable to suit the requirements of different clock servers.
FTP Transport	Transports .smf and .xml files to and from an FTP server. When required, this task is used to transport the data using the File Transfer Protocol.
Import Transactions	Imports .xml transaction files into the pending table. This task inserts clock transactions into the CLOCK_TRAN_PEND_J table in the database, updates the READER table with the clock status, and accepts requests for tables of data that are required by the clock servers.
Process Clocks	Processes the clocks from the pending table into the timesheet.
