Self Scheduling screen

You can use the Self Scheduling screen to select shifts from an open self-scheduling process. This screen displays your current schedule and any shifts that you have selected. You can access this screen by clicking the Self Scheduling link in the WFM header menu. The Self Scheduling screen does not open when there are no self-scheduling processes open for you, and a message is displayed instead.

The Self Scheduling screen includes these sections:

Processes

This section displays the currently open process. You can select the process that you would like to select shifts from using the Processes drop-down if there are multiple open processes.

Note: Selecting a different process clears any un-submitted shifts that you have selected from the currently selected process. Ensure that you submit any selected shifts before selecting a different process.
Calendar
The calendar is used to select available shifts. This information is included in the calendar:
  • Dates that have available shifts that you can select are displayed in white.
  • Dates that do not have available shifts are displayed in gray. This may indicate that all shifts on that date have been filled, you are not qualified for the available shifts, or selecting a shift violates a self-scheduling rule.
  • Shifts you have selected in self-scheduling are highlighted in green. When you submit your schedule, these shifts are highlighted in blue.
  • Existing shifts assigned to you are highlighted in blue. Existing shifts are read-only and cannot be edited in self-scheduling.
  • Approved time off is highlighted in orange. Time off requests that are still pending approval are not displayed in the calendar. Time off is read-only and cannot be edited in self-scheduling.
  • Alert icons are displayed for shifts that violate self-scheduling or schedule compliance rules.
  • When you have three or more shifts selected or assigned on the same day, the text More is displayed.
  • The number of hours scheduled to you for each week is displayed in the Hrs column.

You can click a date in the calendar that has shifts available to view the Available Shifts pop-up. This pop-up lists the available shifts and their shift details. You can click an available shift to select it. You can click a self-scheduling shift you have selected in the calendar to view its details or cancel its selection.

The calendar displays the dates that are included in the self-scheduling process. To help you plan your schedule, the calendar also displays one week before and after the self-scheduling process dates. Up to six weeks is displayed on each calendar page. For longer processes, you can click the Previous Page and Next Page buttons to view earlier or later portions of your schedule.

Schedule Rules

This section displays any self-scheduling rules that have been set up by your organization. Alert icons are displayed for any warning rules that are violated based on your currently selected shifts. Additional warnings may be displayed when you submit your schedule.

Note: Available shifts are not displayed if selecting them would violate self-scheduling error rules. Sometimes, it may be required to remove a selected shift from your schedule to view more shifts that are available to you.
Schedule Compliance

This section lists schedule compliance warnings based on your currently selected schedule. Each schedule compliance warning includes the affected dates. Additional warnings may be displayed when you submit your schedule.

Note: Available shifts are not displayed if selecting them would cause schedule compliance errors. Sometimes, it may be required to remove a selected shift from your schedule to view more shifts that are available to you.
Submit
The Submit button confirms your currently selected schedule. Warning or error messages may be displayed when submitting your schedule, as some self-scheduling rules are only evaluated when submitting.
