EDLA_SPLIT_FULL_DAY_LTA_AS_OF

Description:

This parameter controls whether full-day long-term absence records (LTAs) are split according to the employee default labor allocation (EDLA) records. By default, full-day LTAs are allocated to the first EDLA record that is associated with the employee. Using this parameter, you can split full-day LTAs across labor metrics in the same way that paid work time is split as of an effective date.

Note: This parameter does not affect partial LTA overrides or full-day LTA overrides that are applied to unscheduled time. Unscheduled time does not adhere to the EDLA ratio definitions (including unscheduled work time).

To enable the splitting of LTAs based on the EDLA records, specify an effective date in this parameter. When a full-day LTA is applied to scheduled time that is on or after this date, the LTA is split according to the EDLA records. On scheduled days before the effective date, full-time LTAs are not split.

For example, assume that the employee has two default labor allocation records. The first record allocates a ratio of 50% to Job A. The second record allocates a ratio of 50% to Job B. The employee is scheduled on Wednesday from 0800-1600, which is after the effective date specified in this parameter.

When a full-day LTA override is applied to Wednesday:

  • A LTA work detail is created with 4 hours (0800-1200) allocated to Job A.
  • Another LTA work detail is created with 4 hours (1200-1600) allocated to Job B.

When using this parameter to split LTAs, scheduled break time is preserved. The parameter respects the EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC registry parameter, which determines how breaks factor into the split of scheduled time. See EDLA_BREAK_LOGIC.

This parameter also respects the LTA_RUN_LOCATION registry parameter, which determines whether LTAs are applied before clocks, after clocks, or after timesheet overrides. See LTA_RUN_LOCATION.

By default, the effective date of this parameter is set to 01/01/3000 to preserve the default behavior (allocating full-day LTAs to the first EDLA record). When enabling this feature, you can use the effective date to prevent dozens or even hundreds of adjustments from being created.
