Preparing the presentation for the complex report

After the queries are set up, you can design how the results are presented to users of the report. The complex report uses a crosstab that displays the forecasted and actual volume during the selected time period for each store, divided by volume types.

  1. Click Pages and select Report Page.
  2. Click Page design.
  3. Click Toolbox and drag the Crosstab object into the third block in the right panel.
The Object and query name dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the QueryMain query from the Query Name drop-down box and click OK.
  5. Under Insertable objects, select the Data items tab.
  6. Hold down the Ctrl key and select both the Calls and Volume query items from the QueryMain query.
  7. Drag the query items into the Measures section of the crosstab.
Note: If you drag the query items separately, the second query item overwrites the first and removes it from the QueryMain query. If this happens, click Undo twice and then repeat steps 6 and 7.
  8. From the QueryMain query, drag the Store Name query item into the Rows section of the crosstab.
  9. from the QueryMain query, drag the Volume Type query item into the Rows section of the crosstab, to the right of the Store Name query item.
  10. Add a title to the report:
    1. Click Queries and then click the Condition explorer tab.
    2. Select the English variable.
    3. Double-click the Sample Report Template text item, and specify Actual vs. Forecast by Volume Type and then click OK.
    4. If your report must support other languages, localize the report title.
