Glossary

multiplier

The value by which the number of overtime hours an employee is offered is multiplied to determine the employee’s change in OT (overtime) balance. A multiplier is triggered when a supervisor logs an employee’s response as Accept or Refuse (an Accept Multiplier or Refuse Multiplier is triggered) in OTE.

OT balances

An OT balance is maintained for each employee to log the overtime (either accepted or refused) the employee has accrued to date. An OT balance ensures that all employees are offered overtime equally.

OT group

A set of employees who share the same rules of how they are offered overtime and accrue OT balances.

OT group members

Employees who belong to an OT group are OT group members. Employees can belong to one or multiple OT groups.

OT offer

An offer of overtime hours for an OT group. After a supervisor logs the OT offer into the OTE module, they determine which employees should be offered the overtime first, based on the employee’s position in the sort order that is generated by the OTE module.
