Import migration data through WFM

The import of migration data can be performed in the WFM application by a system administrator. This new migration process requires the encryption of the migration data using PGP. This allows migration data to be transferred securely over the Internet. It also facilitates data migrations in environments where the source and destination databases may not be on the same network or where direct access to the destination database is not available.
Note: This option should only be used in environments where the data import cannot be performed using the Migration Tool due to access restrictions on the destination database or other security requirements. Customers must perform data imports using the Migration Tool unless it is impossible to do so.

This method uses the Import Migration File maintenance form to import migration data exported from the source database using the Migration Tool. Migration files must be encrypted to use this new import process. A PGP key pair is generated on the WFM application server that is connected to the destination database. The public key is exported from the application server and then is selected in the Migration Tool to encrypt the exported data file. The WFM application server uses the corresponding private key to decrypt the file and import the migration data.
