Priority

Team and job priority also factors into auto-assignment. For instance, if the priorities were as follows:

Items Priorities
Team A 1
Job X 2
Job Y 3
Team B 2
Job X 2

If both Team A and Team B were selected for auto-assignment, the resulting assignment order would be:

Assignments Order
Team A, Job X First
Team A, Job Y Second
Team B, Job X Third

If an employee’s shift pattern is longer than the shift to which the employee is auto-assigned, the remainder of the employee’s shift pattern remains unassigned. For example, if PC Mike is auto assigned to a 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Traffic Duty shift, but his shift pattern is from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, the assignment is:

  • 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Traffic Duty
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Unassigned, where the scheduler can assign another job to Mike for the remaining two hours in his shift pattern.
