Relief activities

For each of the leave type activities to be used in MVS, a corresponding relief activity must be configured. The relief activity is used in the relief shift, which can be backfilled by other employees. The relief activity also typically signifies the reason or the type of leave that caused the relief shift.

Relief activities are ON-type time codes, whereas the activities in the maintenance form are leave type time codes (that is TIME-OFF-type and OFF-type). See Configuring relief activity.

If you intend to use the Time Off Request form and allow employees scheduled in MVS to request time off in the Employee Transaction Manager (ETM) or in mobility, then ensure that the time codes used in the Time Off Type are associated to a TIME-OFF type or an OFF type activity with an associated relief activity. This association of codes will ensure that relief shifts are generated when time-off requests are approved.
