Showing shift labels on the schedule pages

By default, all pages that display schedule information show the start and end time of each shift. For clients using shift labels to denote shifts, you can configure the schedule pages to show the shift label instead of, or in addition to, the shift start and end times.

Using field-level security, you can configure these schedule pages to show the shift label:

  • My Schedule widget on homepage
  • My Schedule widget on homepage (one day preview on phone only)
  • My Schedule page (plus the schedule detail page)
  • Co-Workers page (plus the schedule detail page)
  • Team Schedule page (plus the schedule detail page)
  • Shift Giveaway page (plus the multiple shifts modal)
  • Shift Swap page (plus the multiple shifts modal)
  • My Staff widget on homepage (displayed in expandable section for each employee in the list)

To show shift labels on a page, configure the permission of the SHIFT_LABEL elements on the page to VIEW. For example, you can control whether shift labels are shown on the My Schedule widget on the homepage using the FIELD_HOMESCHEDULE_SHIFT_LABEL element, which is found on the MOB_HOME_SCHEDULE maintenance form.

On all these pages, VIEW is the default permission for the shift start time and shift end time and DENY is the default permission for the shift label.

These configurations are valid:

  • Shift start and end times only (default configuration)
  • Shift label only
  • Shift start and end times and shift label together (the shift times are displayed in a separate row below the shift label)
Note: At least one of the two shift indicators (shift times or shift label) should always be shown.

For partial day LTAs, the start and end times will always be shown, even if they are hidden for the schedule.

When the ASV_SHOW_MODIFICATION_INDICATOR registry parameter is set to true, an asterisk symbol is displayed after the shift label value (for example, 11D4*) to indicate that a shift has been modified from the original created version of the shift. Modifications can include changes to start and end times, labor metrics, activities, skills, UDFs, and flags.
