Locale-based configuration for key system settings in WFM

Note: The features described in this section are available as of WFM patch release 7.0.0.9+.

The Configure Locale page (Maintenance > System Administration > Data Localization > Configure Locale) provides greater flexibility for localization of key system settings such as date, time and currency. You can now configure multiple locales for these key system settings for situations with multiple language packs and employees in geographically dispersed locations. You can configure WFM so that employees in different locations can now see the information in a format that is specific to their locale rather than a global setting for all employees.

These key system settings were previously controlled by global registry parameters in WFM that implemented one setting for all employees, regardless of locale. If you upgrade to a version of WFM that supports locale-based configuration, you are now required to use the Configure Locale page to complete your locale-based configuration. If you have no need for this feature, WFM will continue to work as usual with no additional configuration required.

Note: For the system settings outlined in this section that do not have a value specified, WFM will use the value specified by the English locale.

You should also consider the following when configuring locale-based settings on this page:

  • The settings on this page will affect the controls/display found in Mobility, the desktop application and ETM.
  • Individual field-level configuration will still override the locale-based configuration found on this page. For example, specifying the date format explicitly in a DatePickerUI.
  • Custom code references to the registry parameters in the previous implementation of these system settings must be updated to point to the new columns in the WORKBRAIN_LOCALE table.
  • You may need to enable the Configure Locale page for this feature depending on your deployment of WFM. See the appropriate topic in this section for more information.
