Operations (dockets)

An operation is a single step that must be performed to fulfill a work order. Commonly, work orders have multiple operations within them, each of which must be completed to complete the order itself.

For example, a work order may request the production of 50 widgets. To complete those widgets, a manufacturer may need to complete three separate operations:

  1. Cut widgets
  2. Sand widgets
  3. Paint widgets

Internally, Workforce Management stores operations as "dockets”. This name can be localized if required.

To view dockets in Workforce Management, select Maintenance > Shop Floor Data Capture > Docket.
