Generating a Plan Manually

This section describes how to generate a plan from the Forecast Generation page. Alternatively, you can generate a plan by scheduling a task in Job Scheduler. See Generating a Plan Using a Scheduled Task.

Before generating a plan, make sure that the pre-generation tasks are complete. See Preparing the plan for the budget manager.

  1. Select Maintenance > Optional Modules > Labor Budgeting > Forecast Generation.
  2. Select an option:
    • Create New Forecast to create a new forecast or projection.
    • Update Existing Forecast to update data for a specified time period in an existing forecast or projection.
  3. Select a forecast method using the Forecast Method lookup.

The value of the EXCLUDE_SO_INTERNAL_TYPE_IDS registry parameter determines which forecast methods are displayed. See the Infor WFM Registry Parameter Reference Guide.

For a list and descriptions of forecast methods, see Forecast Methods.

Depending upon your system configuration, you may see the Budget Creation-specific forecast methods, such as BUP - Trend of Historic Averages and Bottom Up - Growth Adjusted Trend. You can use the Configuration mode to hide these forecast methods. See the Infor WFM Time and Attendance Implementation and Administration Guide.

  4. Click Continue.

The Forecast Generation Details page is displayed. Complete the required fields, which are described in Specifying Plan Parameters.

  5. Click Continue.

The application generates the plan. The amount of time required to generate the plan depends on the number of locations for which the plan is generated.

After the plan is generated, the Worksheet is displayed. See Introduction to the Worksheet.
