Growth Adjusted Trend Algorithm

The application uses the following algorithm to calculate forecasted values for the Growth Adjusted Trend and the Bottom Up - Growth Adjusted Trend forecast methods. This algorithm calculates values for each day and then aggregates the daily values into weekly values. “LY” represents “last year.”

The base growth rate and the AHR growth rate are different:

  • Base growth rate is the growth percentage applied to all drivers, including sales.
  • AHR growth rate is the growth percentage is applied to AHR only.

These rates are specified on the Forecast Generation Details page. See Generating a Plan Manually.

If any actual value is missing for last year, then the corresponding calculated value for that day is zero (0).

  1. The application uses the following formula to calculate AHR (Average Hourly Rate) for a specific day:

  2. The application uses the following formula to calculate drivers, including sales, for a specific day:

  3. The application aggregates the calculate daily values for AHR and drivers into weekly values that are displayed on the Worksheet.
