Setting Up Volume Types in LFSO

Volume types are defined in LFSO. They are user-defined parameters that drive the staffing requirements of a location. The parameters can be for sales revenue, number of items sold, or number of transactions processed, in a specified time period.

Labor Budgeting module can use the following volume types:

  • AHR
  • Revenue
  • Unit
  • Transactions
  • Returns

When Labor Budgeting generates a forecast, the forecast can either average or aggregate the data associated with the forecasted volume type. The volume type depends on the volume type method, which is specified on the Volume Types page.

  1. Select Scheduling > Schedule Optimization > Volume Type.
The Volume Types page is displayed.
  2. Click Edit beside a default volume type, listed above.
The Volume Type Detail page is displayed.
  3. Use the Volume Type Method lookup to select the volume type method according to the following table:
    Volume Type Volume Type Method
    AHR Average
    Revenue Sum
    Unit Sum
    Transactions Sum
    Returns Sum
  4. Use the Location lookup to select the PARENT location.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat these steps for each default volume type.
