Payroll Percent Distribution

Payroll percent is the ratio of payroll to sales for a location. By default, you can edit values in the Sales and Payroll % columns, while you cannot edit values in the Payroll column. Therefore, modifying a value in the Payroll % column automatically changes the corresponding value in the Payroll column accordingly.

Changing the payroll percent for a parent location also changes the payroll and payroll percent for its child locations proportionally. See Example 1 parent location.

If any child locations have zero values in the Payroll % column, those values are not changed when the value changes for the parent location. The child locations with non-zero values change to compensate for this.

Changing the payroll percent for a child location reaggregates the payroll and payroll percent for its parent location accordingly: See Example 2 child location.

If the initial values in the Payroll % column for the parent location and all child locations are zero (0), then changing the value in the parent location modifies the values in all child locations accordingly. For example, changing the payroll percent in the parent location from zero to 10 changes the payroll percent for all child locations from zero to 10. See Example 3 locations are zero.
